GRAMIN VIGYAN SEVA SANSTHAN

Rooted in Rural Communities.
Building Sustainable Futures.

Since 1988, GVSS has worked with rural communities to strengthen livelihoods, conserve natural resources and advance inclusive, community-led development.

WHO WE ARE

Grassroots Development
Since 1988

Gramin Vigyan Seva Sansthan (GVSS) is a grassroots development organization working alongside rural and underserved communities.

Our approach is built on participation, local knowledge, self-reliance and the sustainable management of natural resources. We work to help communities strengthen their own institutions and shape solutions that respond to local priorities.

Community First

People are not beneficiaries at the edge of our work; they are participants at the centre of it.

Sustainable by Design

We connect livelihoods, natural resources and community institutions for lasting rural development.

Our Vision

A just, inclusive and self-reliant society where disadvantaged and marginalized communities have equal opportunities to participate in development and improve their quality of life with dignity.

Our Mission

To promote sustainable and inclusive rural development by strengthening communities, expanding opportunities and encouraging responsible management of natural resources.

WHAT WE DO

Integrated Action for Rural Development

Our work brings together natural resource conservation, livelihoods and human development—because lasting change rarely comes from a single intervention.

Water & Natural Resources

Water harvesting, land development, earthen bunds, loose stone dams, wells, irrigation support and pasture development.

Sustainable Agriculture

Organic manure, vermicomposting, improved seeds and practical, low-cost farming approaches.

Horticulture

Fruit tree plantation, nursery raising and locally suitable plant varieties for diversified livelihoods.

Community Institutions

Village organizations, Mahila Mandals, Self-Help Groups and community capacity building.

Education

Non-formal education, youth learning, rural libraries and community-based learning initiatives.

Health & Hygiene

Mother and child health, hygiene awareness and community health education.

Environment & Awareness

Environmental protection, natural resource conservation, awareness camps, campaigns and grassroots mobilization.

OUR IMPACT

Impact Must Be Measured by Real Change

GVSS will showcase verified field results here—such as communities reached, water structures created or restored, farmers supported, women’s groups strengthened and plantations undertaken. Only documented figures should be published.

Verified impact figures can be added here
